EVENT PREPARATION WORKSHOP:
- When: Saturday March 6, 2010, 1 PM - 4 PM
- Where: Rieber Terrace, 8th floor lounge by the elevator
- What: Prepare posters, paper tissue flowers, Mariposa action for bruinwalk on Monday, etc. -- it'll be fun! Take a break from studying and don't miss out)

Women of Atenco - March 8, 2010
-Delegation Meeting with Mexican Consul General at LA Mexican Consulate-Press Conference
-Amnesty Members Erika, Shah, and Megha and Field Director, Kala Mendoza will be attending this meeting.
-When: 12:00 PM
UCLA Women of Atenco Tabling Event
-Booth on BruinWalk from 10 AM to 2 PM
-Flyers about the Women of Atenco and the Rally will be available and
distributed
-Flyers about Amnesty International and Partnership organizations will be available and distributed
-Mariposas Action: Justice, Hope, and Renewal: After more than 3 years without adequate justice for being beaten and sexually assaulted by the police, the women of Atenco have chosen the mariposa (butterfly) to represent their cause. They now ask you to make paper butterflies to send to the Mexico State Governor and show him that the world demands action. The women of Atenco have been waiting long enough--it is time for those responsible to be brought to justice!
Candlelight March from UCLA to Federal Building (Westwood)
-When: 4:30 PM-6:00 PM
-Meet at 4:15 PM by the Bruin Bear, don't be late!
This rally is in response to police brutality in the peaceful protest of
women of Atenco, Mexico that led to beating, physically and sexually
assaulting the women protesters who were captured by the police.
*Your cooperation will be essential in helping to get justice for these victims,bring awareness to this human rights issue, and proving that no brutality should go unpunished.*
